The execute key is the keyboard key you press to insert the selected dotScribe result. The current choices are Left Control, Tab, and Enter.

1. Open the dotScribe menu.
2. Open Settings.
3. Find Execute Key.
4. Choose Left Control, Tab, or Enter.
5. Return to your work and test the new key with a short phrase.

Can I use the mouse instead?

The current Execute Key setting provides keyboard choices only. Use the mouse to navigate dotScribe, then use your selected execute key when you want to insert a Desktop result.

If you are working from the Online Library instead, you can use its Copy to Clipboard workflow without a Desktop execute key.

If the key conflicts with another app

Choose a different available execute key. If insertion still fails even with the correct key, see Fix paste or insertion problems.
