Creating Phrases with Text and Web Links in dotScribe

Create phrases that include web links and ensure they paste correctly. 

Opening Links with dotScribe

  • Link Requirement: Making a template in dotScribe with a link as the content will open that link into a new browser window when that template is executed. dotScribe only opens links if they include "http://" or "https://". This prevents accidental opening of emails or other non-web addresses.

Creating Phrases with Text and/or Web Links

  1. Text-Only Phrases:

    • You can create a phrase that pastes text without any web links.

  2. Creating Rapid Links:

    • When you create a phrase that only has a web link, dotScribe will instantly open the link in a new browser window upon execution.
    • To make a rapid link that opens a new browser window with your executed phrase, make sure to include "https://" in the link.
    • Example: "https://www.example.com"

  3. Phrases with Text and Web Links:

    • If you need to create a phrase that includes both text and a web link, ensure the link does not start with "http://" or "https://".
    • Example: "www.example.com."
