dotScribe helps you find and use your dotPhrases efficiently without needing to remember their exact names. Si start typing what you need without spaces. Hitting the space bar resets the suggestion window. For a more refined search, try using the methods below.
Connect with Dots Method
Overview:
- The Connect with Dots method organizes search terms into three categories: patient problem, template/resource type, and specialty.
- Type your search terms for each category, without spaces, connected by dots (e.g.,
uti.plan.urology
).
How to Use:
- Type your desired search term in each category, connected by dots, to instantly get relevant suggestions.
- Navigate through options using the arrow keys, then hit Left Control to paste the selected content.
Using Prefixes
What Are Prefixes?
- Prefixes are shorthand identifiers that help categorize and quickly locate templates in dotScribe and can be found by double clicking the floating dotScribe icon to expand the dotScribe toolbar and clicking the "legend" button.
- Examples of prefixes include:
,hpi
for history templates, ,ros
for review of systems templates, and ,soap
for complete SOAP notes.
How to Use Prefixes:
- Type the prefix followed by the problem/complaint or the category to get suggestions.
- Example:
,hpiabdominalpain
will bring up history templates related to abdominal pain.
