The 4 Main Functions of dotScribe

Understand the primary functions of dotScribe to enhance your medical documentation and resource management.

1. Typing with dotScribe
  • Real-Time Suggestions:
    • Typing (with dotScribe open) without spaces will generate search results for thousands of medical templates and resources.
    • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to view a preview of the suggestion results.
    • Press the execute key (default is CTRL) to paste the selected suggestion where your cursor is.
    • Learn how to change your execute key.

2. Searching in the dotScribe Toolbar

  • Classic Search Function:
    • Use the search bar in the dotScribe toolbar for a traditional search function, with or without spaces.
    • Use the arrow keys to view a preview of the suggestion results.
    • Press the execute key (default is CTRL) after selecting a phrase, template, or rapid link to paste the content.

3. Browsing Your Online Library

  • Accessing the Library:

    • Click the "Library" button in your dotScribe toolbar to browse non-hidden folders in your online library.
    • The library tab allows you to preview and execute phrases from your library.
  • Editing and Adding Phrases:

    • To edit or add a phrase, click the button in your dotScribe menu for the online library.
    • In the online library, you can:
      • Edit and add phrases.
      • Turn folders on and off.
      • Add team members.
    • Visit app.dotscribe.com to view your online library.

4. Using AI-GPT

  • Generating AI Responses:
    • Click the AI-GPT button in the dotScribe toolbar to open the prompt dialog box.
    • Enter your prompt (e.g., "write an HPI for otitis media," "summarize this research article abstract").
    • After the response is generated, click to place your cursor where you want the text to be pasted and click the "Paste" button.
