How to Use dotScribe - The Basics

Get started with dotScribe by understanding its basic functionality and how to use its core features.

1. Getting Suggestions as You Type
  • How It Works:
    • With dotScribe open, start typing in any desktop application, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), notepad, Microsoft Word, or any other application where you can type.
    • dotScribe gives you real-time suggestions based on what you type.
    • Typing without spaces searches dotScribe; hitting the space bar resets the suggestion window.

2. Executing Phrases

  • Previewing and Pasting:
    • Use the arrow keys to preview a phrase, template, or web link from the suggestions list.
    • Hit the execute key (default is left Ctrl) to paste your selected template or open your web link.

3. Turning Off dotScribe Suggestions

  • Disabling Suggestions:
    • Click the dotScribe icon to turn off suggestions when you do not need them.
