Install dotScribe on macOS and grant required permissions

The current public macOS build is for Apple Silicon Macs. Download dotScribe from the official Download page, install it in Applications, then grant the macOS permissions dotScribe needs for keyboard capture and insertion.

  1. Go to dotScribe Downloads and select MAC OS INSTALL.
  2. Open the downloaded installer and move dotScribe to your Applications folder.
  3. Open dotScribe from Applications.
  4. In macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security, allow dotScribe under Accessibility and Input Monitoring. If macOS or dotScribe requests Automation access, allow System Events for dotScribe.
  5. Return to dotScribe. If dotScribe indicates that a restart is required, restart your Mac, then reopen dotScribe.

What you should see

dotScribe should no longer show a missing-permission state and should be ready for normal desktop use.

If macOS blocks the app before it opens

First confirm that the file came from the official dotScribe Download page. If macOS displays a security or verification warning, do not disable macOS security controls or follow an old workaround from a previous dotScribe version. Contact dotScribe Support with the exact warning text and your macOS version so the current release can be checked.

If suggestions or insertion still do not work

Reopen Privacy & Security and confirm that the installed copy of dotScribe in Applications has the required permissions. If the problem continues, contact dotScribe Support with your macOS version and which permission dotScribe reports as missing. Do not send passwords or other credentials.
