How to Use dotScribe AI - The Basics
Get started with dotScribe AI by understanding its basic functionality and how to use its core features.
1. Accessing dotScribe AI
- Expanding the Toolbar:
- Double-click the dotScribe icon to expand the toolbar.
- Click the AI-GPT button in the expanded toolbar to open the dialog box.
2. Generating Responses
- Typing Your Prompt:
- Type your prompt in the dialog box (e.g., "write an HPI for otitis media," "summarize this research article abstract," "write discharge instructions for the DASH diet").
- You can copy and paste bodies of text into your AI prompt. However, it is against dotScribe's terms of use to include any protected health information, patient identifiers, or personal data.
- Click the "Generate" button when you are done.
3. Viewing the Result
- Generated Response:
- dotScribe AI will generate a response based on the prompt you entered.
- Review the response to ensure it meets your needs.
4. Pasting the Generated Content
- Using the Execute Key:
- Click to place your cursor where you want the text to be pasted.
- Hit the execute key (default is Ctrl) to paste the generated content.
- Click the "X" in the AI dialog box when you are done to close dotScribe AI.
Best Practices
- Clear Prompts: Provide clear and specific prompts to get the best results from dotScribe AI.
- Review AI Output: Always review the generated content for accuracy and completeness before using it.
- Avoid PHI: Never include protected health information, patient identifiers, or personal data in your prompts to comply with dotScribe's terms of use.
